SEPT 3, 2013 --down pours all night and until 2 pm - salt off the deck now !!!

we are really glad that we came to Gold River a day early, and that the dock that we had reserved for the next day, did not have a boat on it .... Joe knew that the weather was to turn ugly over night, and it did ... the wind blew and the waves and tides and currents, kept all the boat at anchor , to our stern bouncing, and us at the dock too,  the area was in a rain fall warning ....

this is around 9am, and we are thinking of heading into Chester to do groceries and hit a hardware store ... we made the list last night, and it was getting long ....  it was raining too much to do anything on the boat ... so we went exploring once again (our car is here)

enjoy these pictures of high quality glass ware, from plates, spoons, wine glasses, lamp fixtures, etc.

fish plates, about 2 feet long

beautiful cats, all made of fuzed glass

okay .... back to work again, the rain has stopped for a bit, time to unload some of the inside goodies on Modaki, and put it in our storage unit, on the premises ... this is a dry storage, but no heat, we dare
starting to fill it up, the major items will be the sails, dodger, bimini, but they are all soaking wet from the rain

we have the use of this picnic area, about 50 feet from our boat, we will have a bonfire, when the wood dries a bit

we have already taken our BBQ off the boat and we have use of the Marina's, so Joe (Skipper), is cooking us a pizza

oh no here comes the fog again .. it is Nova Scotia "by the way"...

Joe's car, and a nice wooden boat being restored behind it and we are heading up to the big steel building to have a shower ...  it is to rain all night again and clear by noon tomorrow... we have planned for me to head to town and get boxes to store stuff in, and Joe is washing all the lines, including both rodes, and cleaning the dinghy so everything can dry in the afternoon, before the fog rolls in again .....
we are still hoping to haul Thursday or  Friday the latest, it is $60.00/ night here.. so the sooner we get on the hard the better.
