off the hook again at 7:45, thru a swing bridge, and past our 2nd fixed bridge, the currant was against us, so we put out the foresail and gained 3/4 knot … then the fog rolled in and visibility only 1/2 a mile, we had the radar on and warmed up just in case we got socked in
hydro lines in the water, another reason to not do this ICW in the dark
you just don't know what is around the next corner
this area looked so inviting, a tent was set up, chairs, bonfire lit, and people out fishing … Joe at this moment went below and all of a sudden the water started changing colour and we were riding along side a shoal, no danger but it can send chills up my spine when I'm responsible … the depth went to 6 feet, so steering a bit to STB got us past this new sandbar that was forming in the waterway
you just never know what to expect on the ICW, a stop sign
the homes were getting larger
just before we headed into Vero Beach, this tug and barge needed our immediate attention, it was hugh
6 hours and 36 nm … Joe patched the alternator but it still seems to be not working properly, if we can only get to Ft. Pierce, where there is a mechanic that specializes in them
Snowbird rafted up with us .. this is typical here, the space is limited and everyone comes and never leaves … it is sometimes called Velcro Beach
here we are at only $14/night, with free pump out, rafted together
moss and ferns etc. growing on the old trees, right out side the showers/laundry
we took a free bus to the beach, it was yellow flag day today
Dave taking great shots of the birds … and me taking a shot of him
there was some found boys, running from shore with their surf boards, catching a wave and riding it back to shore
… to be continued
