December 4-5, 2016 Conch and more Conch and Snorkelling

we are told that slaves cut this path thru the rock to get from one
side of the island to the other … you can still see the chisel marks  in the rock

shack shack tree with green seed pods hanging … when they turn brown to black
colour and dry these seed pods are used for musical instruments

an artist studio

introducing Scott to the local beer .. SANDS

getting ready to head out snorkelling .. pictures to follow

ordering fresh conch salad

and enjoying the conch salad with corn chips

the sun has set and the conch was blown by both Scott and Joe, time to
head to Snappas  for supper

the view from Snappas as the sun continues to set … these docks where
taken out in a hurricane that hit here some years ago

enjoying the conch fritters … we have Scott now hooked on conch

we are at Mermaid reef getting ready for some snorkelling ..
it was Scotts first time and he did quite well

it was a bit cloudy today so the pictures are not as sharp as they would be if it was sunny
