off we go again at first light, 7:15 am
sharing the Alligator River and Pungo River Canal, with "Island Pilot", tug and barge
this canal is 20 miles long and completely straight
we passed marsh land
and once again you have to stay in the middle of the canal
there is lots of trees along the sides dying and falling into the Canal
lots of colour with the vines covering the trees
the power boats are causing the sides to be eroded, by their wake
lots of stumps on the sides, so don't venture to far off the centre of the canal, but our chart plotter and those of our buddy boat, had both of us going on land most of the time … also it is not wise to travel the canals in the dark, because of floating logs
we stopped at a marina after the canal for diesel and a pump out, to our shock the pump out cost us $15 dollars … up until now the most we ever paid was 5 dollars … lesson to self ask first what the cost is
anchor down in 8 ft of water … 7 hours and 31 nm
Joe loves these shallow anchorages
