we did more mussel hunting, but nothing ... you pull back the greenery moss stuff to find them
we checked the sky out and within 10 minutes we saw 11 planes flying overhead, we think they were coming from the States ...
motoring our way out on day 3
these are the rocks that you can't see at high tide and have to keep within 10 feet of the island, to avoid them ..
there is a bit of fog, left over, but we thought it would be okay to leave
when we got out to the town of Prospect, everything fogged in and the rollers were 6 ft, and rocking us from side to side ... we decided that we should return once again and wait out the weather, the next day was even worst, we could hear the waves hit the shore, and it sounded like Niagara Falls ... then the next day we could here the red bouy, which is 2 miles away clanging all day long ... left over rollers ..
we decided on another dinghy ride, at low tide, it is so amazing how the landscape changes with the tide ... at high tide this greenery does not show at all
I'm busy at work sewing the sail cover, the sun has eaten away at some of the threads
everything is damp on the boat, with this fog coming and going all day long ... it is hard to work on a tan !!!!
this boat left in the fog, he had to get to Chester for race week
the sun set was like a forest fire burning over the hill .. but it was the fog rolling thru the evening sun |
this is the entrance to the anchorage, at high tide, the rocks in earlier pictured was at low tide
after a few days, we start to run out of fresh water, here the skipper is collecting fresh water, we had about 4 hours of a down pour
the best one was we unzipped the cover a bit and the water dripped into a pot and we got about 6 gallons, enough to fill up the water tank and a few drinking water jugs.
