the harbour is active with sailboats, kayak's, all coming to and fro
the cruise ship is leaving and so is this sail boat, a very interesting mix ...
the sailboat did the right move, stay away .... as the cruise ship did a 360 and headed out to the Atlantic again !!
lots of drumming on the wharf, it was very soothing
they got the audience to participate too
boats can dock at the wharf free all day long, and only pay if they spend the night ..
police on horseback doing their rounds
all the little kids left and the big 'SKIPPER' kid got to climb the big wave
we took a tour of the Corvette HMCS Sackville, Joe's grandfather Art Parker was on the Saskatoon, during WW II
this is were 25 seamen stayed, they hung hammocks from the ceiling, and took them down to eat meals, they all had their own private box for personals
were they could buy cigarets, chocolate bars , etc.
skipper Joe at the wheel
the Military chopper flying close to the water, in front of your boat
tons of pigeons every where
we walked a mile and 1/2 up hill, to do laundry, and now on the way back to the boat, thank god it is down hill now.
we went to the Nova Scotia Art Gallery to view the exhibit of Maud's Painted House
Maud was born near Yarmouth, N.S. in 1903. When Maud was young she developed juvenile arthritis. She married Everett Lewis and moved into his tiny house. She spent the rest of her life enlivening the walls, doors, stairs, household objects with her colourful images of birds, flowers and butterflies. Today Maud is recognized as one or Canada's most important folk artists.
