we had planned to leave at 6 am to make the 5 hour trip in good time so we got to spend some time exploring ... when Joe got up at 5 it was clear as a bell, he made coffee for both of us and by 5:30 it fogged in .. thankfully he did not wake me, and I got to sleep until 6:30, when I woke and noticed it was daylight and "what the heck" ... what's the problem ... once out of the V-berth I saw the problem. FOG !!!
at 8:30 it kind of lifted, to see a fishing boat
we moved at 9am to the anchorage further out the river, and set the anchor to wait again ... you can see the fog bank in this picture ... we ventured out, mostly because we had plan B in place, and we had a track that we came in on ... and could reverse and come back to a harbour that we knew
light house again on the way out
to our surprise it slowly cleared up as we went further out in to the Ocean, and behind us it fogged in
thankfully our auto helm did all the work for us, and we got to play Crazy Eights, to put in the time ... the Atlantic Ocean treated us well today .. it was not what the marine weather man said. ... thank God they were WRONG again !!!!
coming around Liscomb Island, (trivia Liscomb with out the "e" is the water and ports, Liscombe with the "e" is inland towns) very interesting !!!
going 7 miles up the river, winding around islands .. do we have rivers at home that we can sail up ?? keel boats that is ?
we picked up a mooring ball, which is a lobster marker, with a 75 gal. tank filled with cement, sunk in the mud .. there use to be 10 moorings, but the ice has taken them out ...
5 hours motoring and 30 km
the lodge to the right and dock, which we got to go to the next day, only $5.00 more or hydro andwater
we had to pump up the dinghy to get to shore and a shower
there we are way back in the middle of the picture
we had made arrangements with Chester, the main marina man to come to the dock in the morning.
It is more social to be at a dock, and in this case only $5.00 more.
