we had a few hours to tour the museum a bit more, this one talked all about Restoring an Icon: The Charles W. Morgan, the whaleship
this building was about 200ft long and had the keel of another 1800 ship, it explained how the keel was built … interesting
some more wood being stored for future restorations
we lucked out at this Marina, since we were a foreign vessel, we got to spend one night free at the dock, regular price was $4.50/ft, this included admission to the grounds of the museum, which I think was 10 acres or more, free showers, high speed internet, hydro and $3.00 laundry
I turned on all the lights on Modaki that night, just because I could, also took advantage and defrosted the fridge/freezer
we had to plan our departure for the vehicle bridge opening, and we slipped out of our post dockage, with no problem, thanks Joe
heading to Orient Harbour on Long Island Sound Island, New York
there was lots of eddies in this area and we cruised thru most of them with no problem, usually getting a boost of a knot or two
we passed beaches with ferris wheels, and amusement parks
this part of Long Island Sound is called the "fish tail"
supper after a 5 hour day, pork chops, tomato, and cheesy broccoli
this bay was about one mile across, and we were tucked in close to a yacht club, with 50 or so boats on mooring balls, and we still got the ocean swells, not a good night sleep
