Joe and I got to town around 9 am to sight see, the streets were empty with people, but by noon they were crowded
the streets reminded my of St. Martin in the BVI, and for Joe it was Antigua
cobble stone walkways, narrow one way streets, lots of expensive beautiful shops, cafe's, bike rental places, galleries, fantastic gardens
enjoy some of the buildings and homes in Edgartown
we visited art galleries, bought postcards and sat in a cafe to address them and mail back home
this shop was mind blown … parts of boats were used as couches, and display tables
I want to do this for our new deck we will build at Joe's place
there is 700 mooring balls in this area and 100 are reserved for transients … we called one of the Marina's to see what dockage would be for us and it was $8.25/ft .. so $250.00 a night … we chose to anchor … this is also a No Discharge area and pump outs are free
Modaki is one of the sailing boats on the top right hand corner … only a 15 min dinghy ride to town
these car ferries cross every 15 minutes, so you have to time your departure properly
one of the tourist charter boats
beautiful looking ..
Joe and I went for a swim off the beach next to the boat, to our surprise the tide came in faster than expected and we had to chase down the dinghy before it drifted out to sea
…. not much sea glass in this area … some nice shells
we would of stayed another night and toured the island by bus, the fare was only $7.00 each, but the weather was changing and a North wind was expected the next day, and our anchorage would be exposed … to be continued
