September 4, 2013 stripping Modaki for haul out

we were up early, after a very restless night, Joe laid out all the chain and rode from both anchors, washed them and repainted the depth levels, (orange is 25 ft, double orange is 50 ft. and yellow  is 75 ft. and double yellow is 100 ft), then the rode line ... the chain locker was clean enough, so we didn't have to crawl in there and scrub ... it took a while to get everything here dry, and a 4 minute down pour soaked it again, this day was long

in the mean time we put up both sails, to dry them, the wind was light and when I returned from town about one hour later with boxes, and other goodies, they were still slowly flapping in the wind ... we did manage to get them both down and folded and into the storage locker before the down pour

this is what the locker looks like tonight ... a bit different from last night .. eh !! ..we are using the boat hooks to hang our lines and wet weather gear

Joe did the BBQ and I a veggie stir fry and ate our supper in the picnic area that is so close to our boat ... our friends Marie and Henry just arrived to their boat  and we are going to join them for a bonfire, later ...

this is one of the two wooden boats being restored in one of the dry buildings !!

the weather man is still calling for more rain ... we have been scheduled for lift out at high tide, on Friday morning ... so tomorrow we will  build our frame work for the tarp, get the mechanic to come and replace the anodes in the motor (they are seized in), get the instruments off the mast head, winterize just about everything .... the list is so long
