Septembeer 17, 2014 …. Stamford C.T.

entering the western arm of Stamford, you had to pay good attention to the bouys, as the channel divides here and it is 2 ft out side the markers … going up to get diesel

view of Stamford, from the water

this is the area were all the docks are taken out

one the east arm is a hurricane barrier, and a few days ago we dinghy in past it to go to the old fuel dock, and walk to the grocery store …. this is an abandoned dockage area, and I said to Joe, why not bring Modaki in here for the night … well we didn't and thank goodness for that, the next day we found out that the barrier was to be closed for 2 - 3 weeks for repairs … and we would of been caught in there … yipes !! .. and as you can see the gate is closed

our friends from Ithaca, N.Y. arrived, we met 3 years ago in one of the locks on the St. Lawrence River,  they took us to Old Greenwich Village, which is about 15 min drive away, we had a great time window shopping, then Nancy and I did some major grocery shopping, (so nice to have use of a car)

in Connecticut there is free pump outs, so we took advantage of that, here they come right to your dock
Joe also washed down the boat, and scrubbed the green beard that our bow is growing, we are getting into warmer waters, what we have noticed is that most boats here raise their waterline up about 6 inches, so the antifouling is above the water line.
