September 28, 2014 Cape May …

It was interesting anchoring in the dark, we knew the area that was allowed so we motored from the green can, up past about 9 boats at anchor, and judged a safe place for us out of the channel, Joe and I anchor using hand signals, not yelling back and forth like some boaters do, so I had a flash light to shine on Joe's left side to see what he was signalling me to do …  we were awaken at  7am, with fishing boats rushing past, no one obeys the No Wake Zone …. at this same time most of the anchored boats left for their next leg, so we moved closer to the Coast Guard Station, and away from the mouth of the channel … we also found out that our stern running light was not working, further investigation, it is completely corroded, a new one is added to our list of things to buy

this is the chart book that we are currently using

and we did 18 pages yesterday … a record for us …

this is Cape May, we entered at the bottom right, up the channel and anchored just to the left … then tomorrow we can take the Cape May Canal out to the Delaware Bay, at the top of the picture in the middle
