November 3, 2014 near Surf City, North Carolina

since the time change, we now head out just after 6am, first light … today we froze, never took the survival suit off all day … this was our longest day on the water 9 1/2 hours and went 66 km … we for sure had the currants with us today

we had planned to stop at Mile Hammock Bay, it is part of a Military Base … when we rounded the corner, it was full of Military watercraft …the next two days this whole area of the ICW was closed from 7am to noon ….. the next safe anchorage was another 20 miles away … so off we went

on this part of the channel, there is no good place to anchor, in most places there is crab pot markers, and also fishing nets along the sides … today again we were blessed with a dozen or so bottlenose dolphins, and we hit the bridge openings on time ...
