August 24/12 Perce Rock - part one

the skipper, at the tiller, it was cold on the water today
leaving on the north shore of Gaspe Bay
this is a good harbour for docking, no fees and a few fishing boats ..only 1 hour from Gaspe
one of the 6 water falls on this shore
this is a hotel on the top of page, all windows looking out to sea
around Ile Plate ... and then we saw Perce Rock, one of Canada's most famous and most photographed natural landmarks. We did our share of pictures too ....
we where 6 miles away, when I took this picture
we where sailing with just the fore sail in seas 4 to 6 ft. ... it was hard to take a good picture, because of all the bouncing around we where doing
the town of Perce
pictures as we sailed past
this side had the sun on it, so the pictures where better
right about here we where glad to only of had the fore sail out .. as we where told to watch the winds around the points ... we got hit quite hard and reached 8.7 knots  going sideways   ..thank goodness we did not have full sails up
doesn't it look like a pony drinking water
more hotels looking out to Perce Rock
the cliffs are starting to have a lot of red in them
one last look ... it was hard to not stare at this landmark
Anse a Beaufils Marina ----- everything here is fantastic ... people so nice too
our days track  5 hours and 28 actual miles but only travelled 24.5
