Wednesday July 11 and 12/12
Amherst Island to Kingston
When Joe hauled the anchor at 8:30, the chain was wrapped in 4-6 ft long strands of weeds.  But there was no weeds on the anchor, not like when we tried anchoring in shallow waters.
What we also noticed, once we where in open waters again, was the cormorants.  There where none on the Trent-Severn that we saw.  They have completely destroyed small islands in this area.
Now to our left is Wolfe Island and lots of windmills, this is the island that they are planning on installing even more.
At K5 (green can)  we are now in the St. Lawrence River.
We made Kingston a destination ... because we are coming to see a good dear friend, Debbie Mundell ... we have always kept in touch but have not seen each other for 9 plus years. Debbie did the leg work for us and called around at the different marinas for pricing etc.  Confederation Basin was right down town and the price was right. (it is run by the city)
Joe and I did groceries, prepared supper, and cleaned the boat up a bit.
Debbie and Rodney had supper on the boat and we spent hours catching up.
A great evening had by all.  The next day Debbie picked us up and treated us to breakfast and also got our propane tank filled.  We then did a tour of Kingston.
We lucked out on our timing to Kingston, the Busker Festival was just starting and we spent most of the afternoon and evening being entertained.
We had wifi at the boat, but it was always cutting out.  So we where up at 6 am posting the blog, before the other boaters got up.
Joe changed the oil, the first since last fall.  Confederation Basin has a place to get rid of used oil.  We highly recommend this Marina.
We had a great time in KIngston and glad we stayed 2 nights.  We got to relax with Debbie and Rodney ... did a lot of sight seeing, provisioned, showered, did laundry in machines.  A real treat !!!
