June 15 and 16, 2013 emptying the storage locker and Happy Father's Day Sailor Joe !!!!

Saturday we did a push on unloading our storage locker, we did about 6 car loads, and filled Modaki, to the rafters each time, but managed to find homes for most things.  .. we installed our radar unit (our life line), thanks to Norm Meneray (GYC), for designing our unit for easy installation.

We also got our fresh water tank back from having repairs done to a leak, we have not installed
it yet, so more on that later (plastic box under the dodger)
we had hoped to put up the sails, but the winds were too strong.

Modaki's stern, as we walked the harbour for ice cream and to see the Coast Guard boat that just arrived

looking back at Pointe du Chene Yacht Club, we are in there some where !

fishing boats, back for the night, and gift shops, bars, ice cream shops

Coast Guard boat, the guys that check the bouy's, the sand is always shifting because of the extreme weather conditions here in the Maritimes.

because of high winds yesterday we could not put up the sails ,  so Joe had me up at 7am to bend the sails before the wind picked up... lucky we did because it kicked up again .. love the Maritimes weather !!!  or better yet, get use to it we are here for 3 months to come !!!

Main on and fore sail up, ready to be furled in !!

Happy Fathers Day Dave Bath, and Joe ....  we met our very good sailing friends Mary Lou and Dave Bath at Pascal Poirier Park, the centre of Shediac for an artist and food market, everything from wine, cheese, folk art, jewellery, pottery, and tons of food, this is a Sunday Market from 9 - 2pm

it is so nice to travel by the water, because sailors like Gaeton Bourque, share their knowledge to fellow sailors,  thank you Gaeton for instructing us on the passage to Iles de la Madelene Islands, we also hope to cross paths with you again this summer.

okay, I am still trying to get my Jelly fish photo

the water was not clear enough, I would love to see one of these up close, but I think they sting swimmers, so not too close

finally the locker is empty, swept out too.  We hand in the keys tomorrow.  Then make arrangements to leave Joe's car.

this is a map of what we hope to sail in the next month, Prince Edward Island, Iles de la Madelene, .......then  Cape Breton and Nova Scotia.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY  .. Sailor Joe .. I LOVE YOU !!!
cockpit full of more things YOU have to put away.!!!

the side panels I made, to keep the rain out of the cockpit, at anchor or dock ... THANK YOU
Becky Middlebrook, (GYC), for donating your unwanted sails.
