Preparing MODAKI, and rainy day visiting friends !!! June 7-8, 2013

June 7, 2013,  the sun was shining and were getting ready to unwrap MODAKI

all untied and getting the trap pulled off ... and guess what we found?

lots of mold on the fibreglass, cockpit, decking, companionway wood, and the woodwork blistered and peeling.  Looks like we didn't have enough ventilation.

then we wondered if the inside was the same, but thankfully it was free of mold.

We spent all day Friday, cleaning the hull and getting two coats of wax on, and anti fouling the bottom.
The weather forecast was for lots of rain for the next two days.

rainy day Saturday we visited our sailing friends Maurice and his son Maxime, and
we were treated to a fantastic lunch of fresh scallops, and lobster.

this is the Shediac Bay marina, were we will be putting up the mast, it is about 2 miles from the yacht club were we will be launched, in a few days
