when we left Ballantyne Cove at 7am, we had planned to go to Montaque, PEI, once we rounded Cape George the wind was quite strong with white caps. To get to Montaque, we would be beating into it all the next 6 hours, so we set our track for Souris Harbour, PEI, about 15 miles to the east, with a reef in the main and furling and wind on the beam. We topped 6.9 under sail. After 4 hours we shook out the reefs and one hour later, we had to put on the motor.
the ferry leaving Souris at 2pm, just as we are arriving. They are heading to Ile-de-la Madeleine, a 5 hour trip. You can have dinner aboard, and watch a movie too.
entering the harbour, towards the marina. It was so hot today.
a freighter close to the marina
this one is very unusual looking
our crossing, 7 hours and 35km
the marina operator took Joe for a spin, to locate a swimming hole for us, one that was within walking distance .... this is a very nice marina $1.10 per foot, showers, laundry, water, hydro, very clean and the staff so friendly
