we left at 5:15 am, because the bouys to get out of the marina are not lit, so we had to leave in day light, we had a weather window to leave and the next available day was Thurs or Friday. And a special note , guess who held our bow line, to line us back, and get off the dock. Mr. Guy Lafleur .... hey how special is that !!!! he wished us good sailing weather. ... at 10am out on the ocean Guy motored his
boat about 1/4 mile off and we waved.... his trip was 5 hours and ours 13.5 hours ... when we got to Souris, he was already docked and we saw him walking the dogs. Hey a really nice guy !!
sun just coming up, we are still behind big sand dunes
not much wind but 2 other sailboats left with us
we are close to Entree Island and see a tug taking a mini van off the island ...
too bad we didn't get to see the island
the other 2 sailboats, we are all trying to sail, but the wind was right on the nose and was
light, so the sails flop .. and the seas lumpy from last nights winds ..but not as bad as the crossing to the Madgelains ...
we are at East Point and the 2pm Ferry passes us ... wind mills in the distance, they were the first thing we saw of PEI, at noon on the crossing
we plotted a path about one mile off to miss the washboard seas, Gulf of St. Lawrence meets the Northumberland Straite ... see the line?? We went out side our line and we still got the washboard.
There was 5 fishing boats dragging in the banks.
sun shining on the red cliffs of Souris, see to the left of picture where red cliffs end, an old dump, lots of sea glass this is the sight of the Sea Glass Festival, that we are here for ....
our trip 13.5 hours 70.1 km
