well Guy Lafleur is our boat neighbour ... the marina moved us to another outside dock, and Ocean 10, the Lafleur boat is in front of us ... lots of people walking the dock just to see his boat.
we rented a car for two days, so we can see the all the islands
day one took us to Havre Aubert Island, with the red sand cliffs
and beaches, miles long and this one is about 500 feet wide too, it was cold and windy,so there
was not too many people out today.
heading to Cape aux Meules Island, the hydro poles had lots of support at the base, it is all sand and water in this area
lots of colourful houses
the sand cliffs are slowly deteriorating
this is our Plymouth Wave, that we rented for $65/day
this stone sculpture depicts fishermen pulling a boat to shore, after a father and son drowned
a tribute to all fishermen lost at sea
the fishing port, with one of the 400 ship wrecks in the background
you just never know what you will find next
some more of the red sand formations
this large rock was in the centre of Cap aux Meules, the town
we stopped for a bite to eat, scallops, mackerel pate, seal, pickled and salted herring, good !!!
we visited a few other art galleries, then bought a few groceries, and by this time the wind was getting strong and it was raining
Guy Lafleur's boat, and the south wind picking up and sending 2 ft waves with white caps
into the marina
