July 22/23, 2013 (part two)

Joe and I just marvel on how these fishermen manoeuvre there boats, this fisherman is stern to and loading on netting ...

just after Guy Lafleur left for Charlottetown , this boat left it's name was Bliss (same as our 26ft), this motor boat is about 50 ft.

since we lined Modaki around to make room for more boats, we had a chance to clean the stern,
the skipper is hard at work ... and I am doing two loads of laundry, and having a shower
This was the first time in 8 days that we had fresh water to wash the rigging and decks, of salt water ... the railing glitters in salt ... our 3/16 stainless is rusting in the salt ... it is a constant battle to keep the boat clean ...   inside the floor is sticky with salt and our v-berth is full of sand from our feet ..
hey it is an adventure and we are learning as we go  ...

this sure looks like a collision course, but we are docked close to the Dutch Runner, which was docked here 3 or so years ago and he crew donated the food left on board to the local food bank, and then abandoned  ship,  BUT they still pay dockage.

not like at home, Joe and Eric had to go next door to get diesel, then you bring it back to the boat in jugs  and dump it in .....   NOTE:  we practice to the caution !!  no spills from us!!!

We were to head off today to explore by boat other parts of PEI, but Eric the Marina manager, gave us an offer we could not refuse, ... he lent us his car for the day, and tomorrow we get his truck to explore the Island,  ....  I am not too sure this would ever happen back in Owen Sound ...

I think when we get back to Owen Sound the Skipper wants one of these, Debbie the Marina Assistant, said Joe looks good behind this wheel ..

supper steamed mussels, in white wine and hot peppers ... all fresh today ... spoilt YES !!!

it is raining now and good winds too ... sure hope our friends got to Madeline Island today safe and sound .. Moira and John on Genenvive
