sunset at St. Peter's Marina ... flat calm
there is private moorings here, and if you wanted to anchor it is good too
flat calm and we are motoring, when the Canadian Coast Guard came up from behind, and
left us in a big wake ... slow down !!!
this area is quite shallow, with islands around, we had to weave our way around shoals too
the tide is only about one foot and this whole spit was above water, you would not want
to travel this area at night.
just a short trip today to a anchorage
the water was 24.6 degrees, and it sure was good to cool off, we have a
fresh water solar bag on the deck to wash the salt off us.
this place is noted for driving the bow of your boat right up on the sandy bank, then
carrying your anchor to shore
a 2nd power boat joined the first, then they jumped off the back of their boat,
into chest deep water
we decided not to try this because our depth sounder (on the bow), would
most definitely make contact
another sailor worked most of the day taking off the sails and untangling the furling ...
note step ladder on the deck of the boat .... every 1/2 hour they would jump in the water to cool
off, then get right back to work .... we kept watching them and realized that we were getting
closer and closer to them .. yup dragging!!!
we moved out into the more open harbour
the wind kept picking up for most of the afternoon, and evening, out here we could
put out more scope
there were 3 other sailboats in this anchorage
another hot day over ... the cool of the evening is so refreshing
